Beaches in Phuket

Phuket Island in Thailand has long been one of, if not the most sought after location in Southeast Asia for people looking for a dream holiday, or more recently a "lifestyle" in a lush, tropical environment.

Phuket's world class infrastructure, combined with the typical laidback island lifestyle and the unlimited recreation options make it an ideal choice for people heading to SE Asia for holiday, retirement and for those expats who work offshore and need a nice HQ in which to base themselves. Indeed, there is a huge Thailand community of expats in Phuket consisting of people from all nationalities and walks of life. With all the different things going on in Phuket, especially in Patong and other hot spots, It will not take you long to establish yourself and increase your Thailand network of foreign friends and Thai contacts!

Phuket has so many activities on offer: sailing, boating, diving, fishing, windsurfing, biking and golfing to name a few.  This makes Phuket the perfect dream location for those seeking a relaxed lifestyle in an affordable, peaceful, tropical paradise, and that holiday they have always dreamed about.

In addition, Phuket has countless beautiful beaches and stunning views of the Andaman Sea, which, on a bright sunny day (the norm in Thailand!), is a brilliant blue azure colour fringed with white sand beaches, many of them several kilometers long, which make them perfect for a stroll, run or for simply lazing about in the tropical sun.

Phuket is that the airport offers direct flights to many cities in Asia and Europe making a several day stay in Phuket convenient, and easy.

Everywhere on Phuket Island is beautiful, the coats are fringed with golden beaches and palm trees and the interior is mountainous and clad in rubber trees, pineapple plantations and jungle.  The coastal road that runs from Patong to Kata and Karon and then inland to Laem Phrom Thep is especially awesome and is great for motorbike riding, with amazing views and long sweeping curved roads, which are all in good condition.

The south part of the island is straight out of a tropical daydream. The southern coastline is blessed with magnificent mountains covered with lush jungle forest that stretch out to meet the azure blue sea and are framed with white powder sandy beaches and fringed with coral reefs.  There are some excellent reefs at the southernmost tip of the island, accessible on foot, which make for some great snorkeling.

The southern beaches offer superb vistas and some amazing sunsets. The South Coast Area covers the part of the island that lies south of Relax Bay on the west and then across the island to include the Cape Panwa area.

By staying at the northern end of Phuket you will certainly be leaving the crowds behind. The north part of the island is less developed and gets far fewer visitors than the south but has just as much to offer in the way of beaches and scenery and good food. The rugged beauty of the northern beaches is enhanced by the fact that on many days you will have them all to yourself.

The northern beaches are surrounded by Casuarina Pine trees rather than palm trees. These unusual trees are like a natural beach umbrella and offer cool shade from the blistering tropical sun, and make a pleasant sound as the sea breeze passes through them.

Whichever part of the island you choose to go to you are sure to find a beach and suitable accommodation and have a great time in a tropical Thailand paradise.
